Options include:

Mat

Based on Joseph Pilates’ original teachings, also known as Classical or Traditional Pilates. These mat classes are flowing workouts that develop strength, power and flexibility.

Level 1:

Learn the fundamentals of Pilates technique, building up to the Level 1 repertoire in a flowing and invigorating workout.

Level 2:

Building on the basic exercises, this class is flowing and is designed for those who already have experience in the Level 1 fundamental exercises

Level 3:

An advanced and challenging workout. Designed for experienced practitioners.

Pilatesstick

The Pilatesstick workout uses the tension of elastic cords to mimic many of the exercises of the Cadillac (a traditional piece of Pilates Apparatus) In this way, the class combines Mat with the principles of the apparatus. A great class for every level.

Pilates in the Park:

In the warmer summer months there is the option to take the class outdoors to enjoy the fresh air. Classes will be held in Brougham Gardens one block away from the studio.

Pre and Post Natal Mat

Safe exercises that challenge the changing body to keep you strong during pregnancy and to bring your body back after childbirth.

Special emphasis is given to strengthening and stretching the body to the unique demands of pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period. We often utilize the Stability Ball in these classes to support and challenge the body.

Please note that we require Doctor’s clearance to participate in these classes.

Easy Pace Mat:

This class is designed to run at a slower pace than the Level 1 class and is designed for those who may be working through injuries or those new to exercise who prefer a slower and gentler approach to developing strength and flexibility through Pilates-based exercises. A good place to start if you feel deconditioned.

More Mat classes will be added into the schedule over time, if you cannot make it to the specified times, please give the studio a call to see whether a time can be added to the schedule.

If you have a group that would like your own specialized Mat class, come and talk to us, we’ll see what we can do.

*A minimum of 4 clients are required to participate in a specialized Mat class.  

Small Group Equipment Classes:

Limited to a small group of 3 participants, Small Group Equipment sessions work with specialized equipment including the Reformer, Cadillac/Tower, Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine corrector and Mat.

A personal program will be worked out and added to from session to session.

To participate in these sessions, we first book you in for a series of 3 private lessons (Intro Package).

This gives you a chance to outline and discuss your goals, as well as assess your posture and answer any questions you may have regarding your Pilates program.  

Private Sessions:

Private sessions are fully individualized to maximize your workout and to gain the results that personal training provides.

Private sessions can be booked on either an ongoing permanent basis, or casually.

Move-meant Pilates Studio offers a discounted package for your first three pilates sessions. Each introductory session is a private one-to-one focussing on your specific needs and gives you a solid basis in the pilates method. Please ask us for more details here.
